WDS National Committee, Science Council of Japan ​

• Concept: A sub-committee of the Committee of Informatics of the Science Council of Japan (SCJ).  This committee has been recognized as the WDS National Committee of Japan in the WDS community.

• Membership: Data scientists and representatives of WDS-Member repositories, Former WDC repositories, and WDS-oriented data repositories.

• Activity: Promotion of WDS-oriented domestic and international conferences on science data, Recruiting WDS Members, Participating in Open-Science directed movements in Japan, and promoting international collaborations on data, particularly in the A&O area through the collaboration of the CODATA National Committee of SCJ.

• Website: A platform to share information on the activities of the committee.  This provides a portal of data holdings of former WDC data repositories in Japan.

WDS China

 

Concept: Established to reinforce collaborations of WDS Members in China to reinforce WDS-oriented activities in China, e.g. developing the Common Clearing House.  

Membership: WDS Members in China

Activity: Building a contribution from WDS China towards the planned WDS Metadata Catalogue and working in unison to agree on a standard protocol in order to provide a dynamically updated metadata service.  WDS China is leading also a project to use brokering technology to consolidate the unique data holdings generated by Chinese research teams into a common clearing house as a single channel for WDS to harvest its metadata.
