Japan Oceanographic Data Center (JODC) 

As the synthetic marine data bank of Japan, the Japan Oceanographic Data Center (JODC) collects and manages the oceanographic data observed by various organizations in Japan, which include governmental organizations, universities, and other marine research institutes. Then JODC ensures data quality and provides various users with such marine data.  JODC has been also acting as the National Oceanographic Data Center of International Oceanographic Data and Information Exchange (IODE) promoted by UNESCO/IOC since 1965.  Databases are accessible through the data systems shown below:
 

JODC Online Data Service System (J-DOSS)

 JODC comprehensively collects and manages information relating to the oceanographic data and ocean surveys, etc. obtained by ocean survey institutions and provides them to the public users. J-DOSS is a system capable of searching and downloading JODC’s oceanographic data and information held through the internet and anyone can use it.

NEAR-GOOS Regional Delayed Mode DataBase

 NEAR-GOOS(North East Asian Regional GOOS) is a North East Asian Regional Pilot Project of the Global Ocean Observing System: GOOS promoted jointly by the UNESCO Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC) and the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and four countries such as China, Japan, Republic of Korea and Russia are participating.

 Ocean and marine meteorology data targeted for the NEAR-GOOS region is finally managed by the Regional Delayed Mode Data Base: RDMDB and its operation is performed by JODC.
